About 300 people gathered at the museum reserve and marched along George Street while carrying banners reading “Protect Our Taonga” and “Not One More Acre”. Ihumatao is believed to be one of the first places where Maori in Tamaki Makaurau settled, farmed and thrived, has been designated to make way for 480 new homes in a city crippled by a housing crisis. For the past few days, hundreds of protestors have descended on the land, in Auckland’s Māngere, demanding it to be given back to the Māori.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://aimanamerulmuner.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/level2_13.jpeg</image:loc><image:caption>A student sits at a socially distanced table during Alert Level 2 at Otago Univeristy's Central Library in Dunedin, New Zealand on August 12, 2020. </image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://aimanamerulmuner.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/mask_polution_6.jpg</image:loc><image:caption>A man walks through Otago University's Union Lawn with a facemask in Dunedin, New Zealand on September 30, 2021.
