Penang Flood

Strong winds and heavy rainfall lasting for fifteen hours in Penang, Malaysia on Nov 4 and Nov 5 caused landslides, trees uprooted, houses damaged and paralysing many areas throughout the island and the mainland. The catastrophic event affected some 6,200 people or 1,720 families, who had to be placed in some 40 flood relief centres around the state. The flood also claimed seven lives. The flood this time around was one of the worst, for Penangites.
