Being far from home is not an excuse to not celebrate this colourful festival. Organised by the University of Otago Indian Students’ Association, the festival attracted students from different backgrounds. Holi, a spring festival also known as the festival of colours, is an ancient religious Hindu festival which has grown to be quite popular with Hindus and even non Hindus across South Asia and many other communities around the globe. The festival also signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.
Here are some pictures from the festival.
